Heavy-duty design makes it stand very stable. Cons: Color is not very beautiful. And shape is not very "fashion". The light is good and I have less eye strain than with my other older lamp and the bulb has lasted well. It is decent construction that is more than adequate for what it is being used for. The lamp worked for TWO MINUTES before it the bulb started flickering. The bulbs never went out completely but they just kept changing intensity. Very poor quality. I bought it to use at my desk and work table when I am making beaded jewelry, and I use it every day for general lighting on my desk.
