Summary: Easy to install and seems to work fine
Comment: We only have a heating system --- no A/C or anything --- so installing the thermostat was quite easy. The thermometer and temperature controls seem to work fine now. The only drawback is an annoying high-pitched buzzing sound while the light is on. (The screen lights up for several seconds after you press a button.)

Summary: All 3 with unusable LCD screens at night
Comment: We have 3 of these Lux systems in our sprawling house. All 3 have in a few short years had the LCD screens become unusable at night with the incorporated light. The programming part works well enough, The LCD is ok in a well-lit area, but we need to use a flashlight every time we want to adjust them. Not surprisingly, we adjust them less often. It is very frustrating and seriously compromises and otherwise good product.

Summary: Very happy with this unit
Comment: I bought my unit at Lowe's. I am using this for a millivolt based natural gas wall heater and it works great. Simple two wire hookup for my system, but can handle much more complicated setups. I am going to be going with the HoneyWell RTH7500D for my main house control because I want the "auto-switchover" feature, where it will automatically cool or heat depending on the temperature. But this unit is much cheaper than the Honeywell and is working great for controlling my heater. You would want a different unit if you had a multi-stage heat pump, since this unit is not compatible with multi-stage heat pumps.

Comment: All good. The only wish I have is that the batteries could be replaced without taking off the whole thing.

Summary: Best thermostat I've ever had
Comment: In agreement with prior reviewers. I use this model in a commercial retail store because it was far better than the 2 prog. honeywells and the prog. hunter(garbage) i had. I now have one in my home. I asked my plummer "What do you use in YOUR house?" This was it.
