Summary: Works great, note requires phone adapter and is basically permanent when installed
Comment: I have used one of these in a car and another attached to the window of a house, and it made my cell phone usable in areas with previously unreliable coverage. It won't give you coverage where you have none, but it can stabilize coverage in an "iffy" area, especially if your phone doesn't have great reception. Note, you do need to buy an adapter cable that provides a connection between the standard cable of the antenna, and the (probably extremely tiny) port on your cell phone. The cable is a good length, and I was able to install it in a car with the antenna positioned behind the rear view mirror, and run the cable through the head liner, down the side of the window frame behind the plastic molding, through the dashboard, under the glovebox and into a space in the center dashboard under the radio, with several feet of cable to spare.
Two important warnings: the adhesive is *very* sticky. It took me some time and very careful prying and slicing with a knife and paint scrapers to scrape it off a window. Also, the surface that sticks to the window is bright red, so that is what it will look like on the other side of the window.
