Comment: The flames are extraordinarily realistic...the only thing is they cut off at the top and sides in a kind of semi-circular shape that makes it look fake...however, everything folks have said about the fire and logs themselves looking real is absolutely true. (HINT: If you have an iPhone or iPod Touch, check out the App Store for an app called Ambiance. There are a few fire sounds on there that are the perfect accompaniment. Hook up a speaker/dock on the mantle and squint and it's as good as the real thing.)

Comment: I DID MY RESEARCH BEFORE ORDERING AND I AM HAPPY WITH MY DEAL. THE FIRE LOGS REALLY LOOK REAL AND AD SO MUCH TO THE ROOM. THE HEAT IS OK, I AM USING THE LOW HEAT MOSTLY AND IT BRINGS THE ROOM UP 2 DEGREES SO WITH THE CENTRAL SYSTEM [THERMOSTATE] IN THE ROOM IT DOES NOT COME ON AND FOR THAT REASON THAT ROOM IS WARMER AND THE LIGHT BILL WAS ABOUT THE SAME AS USUAL. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS FROM MY WIFE, SHE SAYS IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABOUT 6 INCHES WIDER AND TALLER FOR OUR FIREPLACE [NOT A BIG DEAL]. READING THE REVIEWS IS A GREAT HELP IN MAKING THE RIGHT PURCHASE AND BEING HAPPY WITH IT. DELIVERY AND PAYMENT WAS BETTER THAN EXPECTED. THANKS, SAM

Summary: Perfect for this situation
Comment: We have a beautiful stone Swedish fireplace in the living room that hasn't been used for years, in fact we used it to display artificial plants and flowers. I found this unit on Amazon while searching encased units, so knowing Amazon'z return policy, I took a chance it would work in this situation. I am more than pleased with the unit and it fit perfectly inside the firebox. I can sit 90 degrees from the front of fireplace and it still looks very realistic. We had painted the firebox black years ago so you need to get within 4 or 5 feet to realize the unit is not part of the firebox.
