Summary: takes the chill off
Comment: Used for: boosting the heat in an occupied room while leaving the thermostat for the house set lower. Works well, even in a large living room with 16' ceiling. Even with the heater, we like it fairly cool (under 72, so if you want to heat a room to 80 degrees when it is below zero outside I'm not sure that this is the unit for you. If you are looking for an efficient unit to add a few degrees to a room you should consider the DeLonghi. Surprised at how useful having a remote is: thought it would end up in a drawer, but it comes in handy.

Pros: small size, remote, auto mode, oscillating movement can be switched on/off, good heat output

Cons: not as quiet as we would like-- all three modes equally loud-- no louder than comparable units, but was hoping for a quieter unit

Summary: Effective and stylish, with a remote!
Comment: This is a good heater for the money - especially if you buy it through Amazon and not Amazon marketplace. (I paid almost $60 for this through the latter because Amazon didn't have it in stock and made no mention of the fact that they *usually* have it in stock for $40 with free shipping. Thanks Amazon, I was good and pissed when I checked a week or two later and saw that I had impressively overpaid.)

Anyway, all that Amazon bulls**t does not ultimately detract from the heater itself, which has functioned rather nicely. I was initially worried after reading other reviews that mentioned it doesn't have an automatic shut-off feature if knocked over - I was worried because it looked easy to knock over! But it's not as skinny and potentially unstable as it might look in the photo, and I'm not concerned with knocking it over anymore. (I might be concerned if I had pets or kids running around though.)

It seems to heat up my studio well, which is a 14 x 15 foot room with a 10 x 10 (roughly) kitchen off of it. This heater can bring the temperature up a few degrees within an hour or so, which is generally what I need. The 'oscillation' feature does indeed seem to help spread the heat and heat up the room uniformly. (The programmable thermostat is a nice feature too - I haven't used it yet, but enjoy having the option.)

And, I like the way this heater looks - kind of like an old vintage-y piece of stereo equipment.

The remote control is what I bought this particular heater for, and it is truly awesome. I seem to recall other reviewers complaining about the remote being hard to use in the dark, etc. Not really. Nor is the fact that it does not indicate what mode you are in a big problem. Folks, there are only three modes! The device always starts in low, goes to high, then to the thermostat-setting mode! Furthermore, the heater sounds different in the low and high modes. It is not hard to use the remote, I assure you. (I do not own a TV, so I don't run into the annoying remote issues that arise with this.)

I understand the complaints that you have to reset your settings (mode & temperature if you use the thermostat setting) each time you turn the device on, but I don't think this is a huge deal. It doesn't take long. (They should, however, have made it so you can keep temperature settings in there though. Stupid.)

In conclusion, I sleep in a loft bed and it is *so nice* in the morning to just turn on the heater for 10 minutes or so before I drag my butt down the ladder and face the day. And when I come home and my apartment is 65 degrees, it's nice to turn this on, start the oscillation, and get this place up to 68, 69 degrees within a couple hours. This was a good buy; I've only had this about a month, so if more thoughts arise, I will update this.

Summary: Works well
Comment: Satisfied overall. Heats space quickly. Love the remote control. Somewhat annoying that power button is also the control for oscillation. If unit is running and you press power but don't hold it down long enough, the unit starts oscillating instead of shutting off. Nice that you can set it to a specific temperature. When temperature has been reached, heating element and fan both shut off and then turn on again when temperature drops.
