Summary: Draconian DRM ruins this title
Comment: While the game may boast some great technical marvels, the draconian DRM (copy protection) prevents the game from being installed in many cases. The support in this situation is exactly none. A visit to EA's website reveals an unfriendly interface that yields nothing of value. You are basically left to your own devices to figure out the problems - which are many. The installer often fails meaning you have to revert to some very esoteric ways to get the product installed. You are then rewarded with the activation attempt, only to find it fails, too, and proceeds to delete the binary (main program) which prevents any more attempts unless you de-install and re-install. That process will take about 30-40 minutes per attempt. Wow, what fun!

I'm no noob, either, and have probably bought every major title to hit the shelves in the last 25 years. Oh, and did I mention I am a 3D game consultant too?! This is BY FAR the worst copy protection scheme I have ever seen, even considering the debacle called STEAM. The people who shipped this should be flogged with a rope stacked with these worthless DVDs. Why even bother talking about the game itself? Do yourself a favor and pass on this $30 coaster.

Summary: BEWARE! SecuROM infested!
Comment: DO NOT buy this game. Actually, you literally can't buy it. You only buy the rights to install it a few times. After that you throw it in the trash. Don't think you'll ever even install it five times? What if you replace a piece of hardware on your computer like a graphics card or motherboard? What if you get a new computer?

Suppose you'll never do any of those and you buy a bunch of SecuROM games. You will have to leave ALL of them installed on your computer at the same time in order to prevent having to reinstall them. That is going to take up tons of room and slow your computer down. Being able to install, uninstall, and reinstall games is what makes many of them long lasting titles. These games WILL NOT work as soon as the activation servers are shut down. That could mean you only have a few years to play this game before it is trash forever.

Also, SecuROM is basically malware. Do some research on malware to see why you don't want it on your computer.

There are plenty of amazing and fun games out there that don't have DRM or SecuROM. Go get them instead since you actually buy the game forever, not just the right to use it a few times.

Summary: Excellent Continuation of the First Game
Comment: The first game Crysis leaves you with a movie sequence showing Nomad, Psycho and Dr. Rosenthal heading back to the island to continue the fight. When I saw that I was ready for more action, but sadly that is where the game ended. Enter Crysis Warhead, continuing the story line, but now from Psycho's perspective - the British member of Raptor squad. Overall, excellent story line and missions I enjoyed every minute of it even after playing it twice through on Delta difficulty. In Crysis Warhead there are new explosive you can use to blow up enemy vehicles and a few new weapons to fire. The main draw for me was the story line and the action. A definite must have for any FPS gamer.

Summary: EA Support is HORRIBLE!
Comment: Crysis Warhead is pretty decent. Crysis Wars, not so much so. The biggest problem is that the game is almost impossible to run on anything better than "good performance" mode. Having 1GB of GPU memory, 4GB of RAM & a Quad core CPU running at 3.6GHz, one would think that you could crank up the quality. Not so. The game becomes VERY unstable and crashes randomly.

EA Support's solution? Clear your temporary files folder, turn down the DirectX audio quality as low as possible and run the game in "best performance" mode. In other words, run the game in the crappiest mode possible and stop bothering them because the software is unstable which would lead one to surmise that the programming is poor at best. Yet another reason for me not to buy another EA game. UbiSoft games never game me the problems I've had with EA brand games.
